II．Applicant Qualifications

(I) With Foreign Nationality

Chinese citizens who have foreign nationality and apply to study as foreign students after immigrating abroad must hold a valid foreign passport or nationality certificate for more than 4 years (including), and have a record of actually living abroad for more than 2 years (actually living abroad for 9 months in a year can be counted as one year, which is subject to the entry and exit stamps) in the most recent four years (as of April 30 of the enrollment year).

(II) Requirements for Physical Condition

The health condition should comply with the relevant provisions of the Exit and Entry Administration Law of the People’s Republic of China, and a certificate of physical examination within the last 6 months should be submitted.

(III) Requirements for Educational Background and Age

Students applying for a bachelor's degree must obtain a high school or above (or equivalent) graduation certificate, and shall be over 18 years old and under 30 years old; (as of September 1, 2026).

Students applying for a master’s degree must have a bachelor’s degree or above and shall be under the age of 35 (as of September 1, 2026).

(IV) Requirements for Language Competence

Chinese is the language of instruction for the international undergraduate and postgraduate students in the University, the applicants' Chinese language proficiency should be at least 200 points at level 4 of the International Chinese Language Proficiency Standard (hereinafter referred to as “HSK”). Applicants who had Chinese as the language of instruction in their previous academic education are exempted from submitting the HSK certificate, but shall submit a proof certifying that Chinese is the language of instruction.

If the class teaching language of the major applied for by the applicant is English, the English level of the applicant shall reach IELTS 5.5 scores or TOEFL 50 scores at least. If the class teaching language in the last academic education stage is English, the applicants are exempt from submitting an IELTS or TOEFL certificate but are required to provide evidence demonstrating that English was the medium of instruction.

(V) Subjects of CSCA examination

The students who apply for undergraduate program of our school shall take liberal Chinese (Examination language: Chinese) and mathematics examination (Examination language: Chinese or English) of “China Scholastic Competency Assessment” (CSCA) organized by China Scholarship Council.

III. Application Method and Materials

(I) Application Method

Applicants log in to the International Student Registration System of our university at https://admission.xmut.edu.cn and submit their application materials.

(II) Application Period

Self-supporting students: from the day of issuing enrollment guide to May 5^th, 2026.

Chinese Government Scholarship (type A): consult corresponding dispatch department of your country.

Chinese Government Scholarship (type B): from the day of issuing enrollment guide to May 5^th, 2026.

International students’ scholarship of Xiamen University of Technology: from the day of issuing enrollment guide to May 5^th, 2026.

(III) Application Materials

1. Undergraduates

（1）A scanned copy of the first page of the passport (ordinary passport, valid beyond October 31, 2026);

（2）High school diploma or pre-graduation certificate accredited by the Ministry of Education or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the host country;

（3）Transcripts of high school with official seal of the school;

（4）New HSK certificate at level 4 or above;

（5）Medical Examination Form for Foreigners (Valid to July 30^th, 2026 or later);

（6）Statement of Financial Support for International Students and scanned copy of the guaranteeing materials written in Chinese or English, as well as the scanned copy of guarantor’s certificate of employment and passport/ID Card;

（7）Non-criminal certificate within 6 months prior to the date of application;

（8）Recent 2-inch color photo;

（9）International students whose parents or one of them is a Chinese citizen, or who have emigrated to a foreign country, must submit the original copy of the students’ records of entry and exit in the latest 4 years (as of the end of the registration time) issued by the entry and exit administration department；

（10）Transcript of liberal Chinese and mathematics in “China Scholastic Competency Assessment” (CSCA)；

（11）Applicants for university scholarships must also submit a scanned copy of the "Xiamen University of Technology International Students’Scholarship Application Form."

2.Postgraduates

(1)A scanned copy of the first page of the passport (ordinary passport, valid beyond October 31, 2026);

（2）University diploma or pre-graduation certificate accredited by the Ministry of Education or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the host country ;

（3）Transcripts of university with official seal of the university;

（4）Language level certificate (Majors in Chinese: new HSK4 certificate or the above; majors in English: transcript of IELTS 5.5 scores or TOEFL 50 scores at least; or proof of corresponding class teaching language in the last academic education stage which is same as that of the major)

（5）Medical Examination Form for Foreigners (Valid to July 30^th, 2026 or later);

（6）Statement of Financial Support for International Students and scanned copy of the guaranteeing materials written in Chinese or English, as well as the scanned copy of guarantor’s certificate of employment and passport/ID Card;

（7）Non criminal certificate within 6 months prior to the date of application;

（8）A personal statement written in Chinese in no less than 800 words, introducing the applicant, his/her learning experience, and goals and plans in study in China;

（9）Recent 2-inch color photo;

（10）International students whose parents or one of them is a Chinese citizen, or who have emigrated to a foreign country, must submit the original copy of the students’ records of entry and exit in the latest 4 years (as of the end of the registration time) issued by the entry and exit administration department；

（11）Applicants for university scholarships must also submit a scanned copy of the "Xiamen University of Technology International Students’Scholarship Application Form."

3.Non-academic Education

(1)A scanned copy of the first page of the passport (ordinary passport, valid beyond October 31, 2026);

（2）Final education certificate accredited by the Ministry of Education or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the host country (proof of enrollment for students in high school);

（3）Medical Examination Form for Foreigners（Within 6 months prior to the date of application);

（4）《Statement of Financial Support for International Students and scanned copy of the guaranteeing materials written in Chinese or English, as well as the scanned copy of guarantor’s certificate of employment and passport/ID Card

（5）Non criminal certificate within 6 months prior to the date of application;

（6）Recent 2-inch color photo.

Applicants should upload the application materials (colored scanned copy) as required, and keep the originals for inspection. If the application materials are not in Chinese or English, a notarized Chinese or English translation must be submitted. Forms, texts, certificates, etc. with more than two pages should be stamped with a cross-page seal, or the official seal on each page.

For the above application materials, applicants should fill in the online information in a true, accurate, complete and valid manner. If admission and enrollment are affected due to mistakes, omissions or false filling or invalid information, the applicants shall bear all the adverse consequences and responsibilities.

VI. Qualification Review and Assessment for Admission

(I) Qualification Review

After the applicant completes the online application, the school will conduct a qualification review. If the information or materials submitted by applicants are not qualified, the applicants must update the information or materials online timely.

(II) Assessment for Admission

1.The university will organize an entrance examination for those who have passed the qualification review, which is in the form of an online interview, and the examination is scheduled for late May 2026 (specific arrangements will be announced later).

2.The school will make a pre-admission list based on students’ overall score in examinations and enrollment plan of the school, and then send a Confirmation Letter of Admission Information by e-mail.

3.The school will announce official admission list before July, 2026. The applicants in the official admission list shall go to embassy of China in foreign countries to apply for visa with their admission letter sent by the school and visa application form (JW201/202 form) for study in China.

V. Charging Standards

(I) Tuition (per student/per academic year, in CNY)

(II) Accommodation Expenses (per student/per academic year, in CNY)

The university will arrange student dormitories uniformly, with the accommodation expense of CNY 2,000.

(III) Other Fees (in CNY)

The fees of textbooks, insurance, and physical examination, etc. are approximately CNY 2,000, and a detailed list will be notified at the time of enrollment and registration.

The above charges are implemented according to the approval documents of the price management department and are based on the actual charges of the year.

VI. Supporting Policy

(I) Chinese Government Scholarship

Full scholarship: including tuition and accommodation expenses, comprehensive medical insurance and living allowances will be provided for international students in China.

1. Bilateral country programs (type A)

Applicants who match the conditions of Chinese Government Scholarship Bilateral Country Program can apply for that in overseas study students dispatch department of the country or education department of embassy (consulate general) of China in the country. The applicants must log in “Chinese Government Scholarship Information System” (https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn) to register an account and fill in Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form, and choose “Type A” about the type of scholarship and “Xiamen University of Technology” as the first preference in “school preference”. The valid period of application is from January to the beginning of April. Expiry date of the application varies from countries, please note to check in advance.

2.“The Silk Road” program (type B)

Students can apply for “the Silk Road” program (type B) via our school. To apply for this program, applicants must log in “Chinese Government Scholarship Information System” (https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn). Our school code is “11062”. The final scholarship approval result will be subject to that announced by China Scholarship Council.

(II) Xiamen University of Technology Scholarship for International Students

Enrollment target: students from the countries along the Maritime Silk Road and the BRICS countries who support “one China”, are friendly to China, and are in good health.Applicants should submit the scholarship applications in the university’s International Student Registration System.

Support: free tuition and accommodation expenses, comprehensive medical insurance and living allowances will be provided for international students in China.

Applicants should download the "Xiamen University of Technology International Students’ Scholarship Application Form" through the university’s international student application system, complete it as required, and then scan and upload it to the application system at "https://admission.xmut.edu.cn".

VII. Admission and Diploma

(I) Admission

All new students admitted to the university should go to the university for handling admission procedures on schedule with the admission notice and relevant original documents. Students who cannot go to university as scheduled for some reason should request a leave of absence from the management department of students’ registration records, which should not exceed two weeks normally. If the students do not apply for a leave of absence or the leave of absence is overdue, they will be deemed to have automatically given up the admission qualification, except for justifiable reasons such as force majeure.

(II) Qualification Review

New students will be reviewed for admission qualification after entering the university according to the relevant regulations of the state and the university, and those who fail the review will be managed in accordance with the relevant regulations of the university.

(III) Awarding of Diploma

The university will award graduation certificate of Xiamen University of Technology to graduates who have met the graduation requirements of their majors within the specified period of time, and corresponding degree certificates to those who have met the relevant degree awarding regulations of Xiamen University of Technology.

IX. Other Matters

1.Applicants are advised to visit the enrollment website and webpage of International Cooperation and Exchange Office of our university, where relevant notifications and precautions will be issued by the university timely.

2.If the matters not covered in this guide are conflict with the provisions of the relevant state documents, the later shall prevail.
